Carmen & Esteban, una boda de cuento || Carmen & Esteban, a fairytale wedding

La boda de Carmen y Esteban fue una boda de cuento de hadas... literalmente.

Llegaron en un coche (no de caballos porque hubieran tardado mucho) al Palacio (Monte Miramar) y subieron las escaleras con alfombra roja para pasar bajo el cartel de bienvenida sostenido por globos que decía:

"No se admite la entrada a brujas y madrastras, Queda terminantemente prohibido traer manzanas envenenadas, ruecas y ese tipo de cosas incompatibles con el amor y las princesas"

Toda una declaración de intenciones que ponía a los invitados en situación, no sería una celebración normal, sería un final de cuento, de los de comieron perdices

Decoramos el jardín con muchísimas mariposas hechas de papel de libro antiguo, y colocamos también una en cada centro de mesa y sitios estratégicos, ya que las mariposas se posan en cualquier parte.

Se diseñó una colección de libros con títulos que eran especiales para los novios y con ellos se crearon los meseros, en este enlace las mesas no se llamaba 1, 2 o 3, se llamaban El señor de los Anillos, Caperucita en Manhattan, Océano Mar... Carmen es librera y ama su trabajo, así que ese pequeño guiño  lo hacía muy suyo.

Para el photocall recreamos un escenario de cuento tipo telón de teatro, donde un banner decía Y fueron felices...  y los complementos eran todos relacionados con el cuento de la Bella Durmiente de Disney: los gorros de las hadas madrinas, el sombrero del príncipe, la corona de Aurora y mil complementos mas para que los invitados pasaran un rato en grande haciéndose fotos de cuento.

Llenamos el salón de baile de globos blancos y dorados que crearon una atmósfera muy mágica para el primer vals, que la pareja bailó rodeada de cintas blancas y globos a diferentes alturas.
En el mismo salón se colocó el carrito de chuches, mas de cuento que nunca, en tonos beiges y rosas, y una mesa de dulces a cargo de Julia Cupcakes con una tarta coronada por la figura de la bella durmiente y el príncipe que ponían el colofón al enlace.

No sabemos si Carmen y Esteban comen perdices, pero si sabemos que están comiendo muchos cupcakes porque los vemos de vez en cuando por Julia Cupcakes tan enamorados como el día que los conocimos.

Así que fueron felices... ❤

 

Carmen and Esteban's wedding was a fairytale wedding ... literally.

They arrived in a car (not a carriage, because they are quite slow) to the Palace (Monte Miramar) and they went up the red-carpeted stairs to pass under a welcome sign held up by balloons that read:

"No admittance to witches and stepmothers, is strictly forbidden to bring poison apples, spinning wheels and that kind of things incompatible with love and princesses"

A declaration of intent to put the guests into situation, this wedding wasn't a normal celebration, it had a storybook ending, an "and they lived happily ever after" ending…

We decorated the garden with lots of butterflies made from old book paper, and also put one in each centerpiece and strategic places because butterflies can land anywhere.

Instead of using numbers for each table we designed a books collection with titles that had a special meaning for the couple, instead of sitting on the table 1, 2 or 3, you had to sit on tables called "The Lord of the Rings", Red Riding Hood in Manhattan, Ocean Sea… Carmen works on a bookstore and since she loves her job, we thought this little detail will make the celebration even more of her own.

For the photocall we recreated a theater-like fairytale stage, with a banner reading "Happily ever after…". Every accessory was related to the tale of Sleeping Beauty: Fairy Godmother caps, the Prince hat, Aurora's crown and many other accessories for the guests, so they could have a great time taking fairytale pictures.

The dancehall was filled up with white and golden balloons, creating a magical atmosphere for the couple first waltz, they danced surrounded by balloons at different heights and white ribbons. 

The candy cart was placed in the same room, with the most fairytale decoration ever, beige and pink colors with a sweets selection by Julia Cupcakes who also made the wedding cake, topped with the figures of the Sleeping Beaty and The Prince dancing. This wasn't just the top of the wedding cake, but the party itself!

We're not really sure if Carmen and Esteban eat partridges (that's the typical spanish ending expression for the fairytales), but the thing that we know for sure it's that they're eating lots of cupcakes because we see them in Julia Cupcakes quite often, and they look as in love as the first day we met them!

And they lived happily ever after... ... ❤

Una boda muy salvaje || A wedding in the jungle

Hoy os presentamos la boda de Carmen y Vicente, que celebraron su enlace en la finca El Realengo, un trocito de selva en medio de Málaga. Así que entre bambúes, árboles gigantes, pájaros y un lago artificial celebraron con sus amigos que se querían, y nosotras pusimos todo de nuestra parte para que quedara lo mas romántico y colonial posible, con un toque informal ya que ellos hicieron incapié en que la suya sería una boda para el disfrute familiar.

Para empezar, la novia aportó unos complementos para el photobooth que nos encantaron, eran verdaderas preciosidades: un mueble de hilaturas, una máquina de coser antigua, unas banderolas de tela... un atrezzo de lo mas inglés, así que nos decantamos por darle un toque colonial que al ponerlo todo sobre el fondo selvático se consiguió solo, sabemos de buena tinta que fue una de las cosas que mas atención llamó, compitiendo directamente con la carpa de tiras de tela para el baile que colocamos en el salón de madera todo en tonos tostados, que le dieron al salón un tono íntimo a la vez que festivo que fue muy aclamado.

Para el cocktail que se celebraba en una pérgola de madera al aire libre elegimos una decoración en blancos y beiges con lamparas de papel y pompones, con los que creamos una cascada que le daba el toque festivo al entorno sin perder el estilo natural que predominaba, quisimos en todo momento no entorpecer el paisaje que es muy bonito y tiene mucha personalidad ya de por si.

Para el directorio de mesas quisimos aprovecharnos del fondo, así que colocamos unas cuerdas en los troncos que rodeaban el lago y de ahí colgamos los números en madera de cada mesa y cada invitado tenía una tarjetita con su nombre sujeta con una minipinza.

En el salón de la cena y el baile seguimos la misma tónica, decorar acompañando el entorno, que ya era protagonista en si, así que nos decantamos por el blanco como predominante, acompañado de tonos tostados y naturales. El padrino cortó trigo para decorar, así que lo utilizamos para acompañar unas tarjetas que se hicieron para cada invitado con una cita que gustaba a los novios.

Para los centros de mesa elegimos flores blancas, velas y tarros de cristal decorados con un toque rústico, y el menú se colocó en un marco de madera sin tratar que formaba uno con el centro de mesa y el mesero, que se realizaron en un papel con textura de madera.

Quisimos destacar el centro de mesa de los novios haciéndolo distinto, y con una casita acristalada de madera blanca conseguimos que fuera no solo el centro de mesa sino también el centro de atención.

Y por último para los mas pequeños realizamos unas bolsas de chuches colocadas en un cofre de mimbre que luego los animadores se encargarían de esconder para hacer una divertida jimkana.

Today we're going to show you Carmen and Vicente's wedding, which they celebrated in El Realengo, a piece of the jungle in the middle of Málaga. And so it was how they celebrated their love surrounded by friends, bamboos, giant trees, birds and an artificial lake. We did our best to make this wedding as romantic and colonial as possible, with an informal feeling because they made emphasis on a wedding for all the family.

Some of the lovely photobooth accessories were brought by the bride, and they were gorgeous: an old cabinet, a sewing machine, some fabric banners… some very british props that gave us the idea for the colonial feeling, perfectly achieved with the jungle background, we know for sure this was one of the most eye catching decorations, competing hand in hand with the strips fabric tent made for the dance. The fabric were chosen in toasted colors to match with the wooden floor, this combination gave intimacy and a warm but festive look to the dancehall.

The cocktail was celebrated on a wooden pergola on the outside, we created a cascading decoration out of white and beige paper lanterns and pompons that gave the environment a festive look without losing any of it's natural feeling, as we said before the scenery was gorgeous so we tried to enhance it's personality above all.

We wanted to take advantage of the background for the seating chart, so we tied a couple of cords to some trees around the lake and hanging from them the numbers for each table, every guest had a card with their names hanging from the rope with a mini-peg.

For the diner room and the dancehall we keep the same leitmotiv, to go with the environment while enhancing it, so we went for the white as the main color followed by toasted and natural tones. The best man gave us some wheat, so we tied it to the cards made for the guests, these cards had a quote chosen by the bride and groom.

Centerpieces were made out of white flowers, candles and crystal jars with a rustic feeling, the menu was printed in a wooden textured paper and set in natural wood frame, giving an homogenous look to the tables. We wanted to make the bride and groom centerpiece to stand out from the others so we used a greenhouse made of white wood and crystal, we didn't make just a centerpiece but a center of attention!

Finally, for the little ones we made some sweet bags and put them on a wicker chest which the entertainers then hide to play a funny gymkana 

Teresa & Leo, una boda y muchas letras | Teresa & Leo. A wedding, a lot of words

Teresa y Leo se casaron este verano en el Palacio Monte Miramar. Leo es de Buenos Aires y Teresa de Málaga, los dos han vivido en muchos países y aunque decidieron casarse en la ciudad de la novia fue un enlace muy internacional, con invitados que llegaron de muchos países.

Ellos querían una boda moderna y divertida y nos dieron unas pautas claras, nos enseñaron varias referencias: un photocall que les gustaba mucho, unas letras, una paleta de colores donde predominaban el color teja y el gris pizarra, algunas frases y unos retratos que les hizo Paula Bonet que había que utilizar porque son preciosos.

Así que nos pusimos manos a la obra, empezamos diseñando las invitaciones y a partir de ahí fuimos creando el resto de detalles y la decoración. Las letras tomaron una importancia relevante ya que la novia es traductora y ella tiene una relación muy estrecha con las palabras, asi que dibujamos unas pizarras con frases que tenían un significado especial para los novios y las colocamos en las farolas que rodean a las mesas, junto con unos banderines color teja perlado que le dieran un toque festivo al mensaje.

En las mesas colocamos una tarjeta de agradecimiento para cada comensal, un sitting muy emotivo que gustó mucho a los invitados, también personalizamos el menú y los meseros, e hicimos unos directorios donde la gente pudiera buscar su sitio en las mesas.

El photocall se convirtió en un pequeño muro dedicado a Teresa y Leo... la letra de una canción que les gusta, sus ciudades de origen, la fecha de su boda... un recuerdo efímero pero que quedará reflejado en todas las fotos superdivertidas que durante el baile se echaron allí.

Para nosotras fue un placer trabajar en esta boda porque era muy diferente y eso supuso un reto, nos encantó el resultado y volveríamos a hacerla mañana mismo, ¿chicos, os queréis casar otra vez?

Teresa & Leo were married last summer at the Palacio Monte Miramar (Málaga, Spain).  Leo is from Buenos Aires and Teresa is from Málaga, the couple have lived in different countries and even if they decided to get married in the bride's city, it was a very international wedding with guests who came from many countries.


 
They wanted a modern and fun wedding and they gave us clear guidelines, they show us several references: a photocall they liked, some types, a color palette dominated by orange and chalkboard gray, some phrases and a portrait of them, drawn by Paula Bonet, that we used because it's really beautiful.


 
We started with the design of the invitations and, after that, we created the rest of the details and decor. Since the bride is a translator and she works with words, we placed great importance to the letters, we draw chalkboards with phrases with a special meaning for the couple and hanged them on lampposts around the tables, along with pearly orange banners to give the message a festive touch.


 
We placed thank you cards on the table for each guest, a very emotional sitting that the guests enjoyed,  we customized the menu and the table numbers, and did some directories where people could find their place in the tables.



The photocall turned into a small wall dedicated to Teresa and Leo... the lyrics of a song they like, their hometowns, their wedding date... a ephemeral memory that will be captured in every super-funny photos shot during the dance.



It was a pleasure working on this wedding because it was quite different for our work line and it was a challenge for us, we loved the result and would make it tomorrow again if necessary, guys, you want to marry again?

Una comunión moderna | A modern first communion

Pablo es un niño muy inquieto y divertido, y está en esa edad en la que piensa que las niñas son tontas y los besos algo asqueroso, ¡puaj!
Le gusta lo que a todos los niños de su edad: correr, los videojuegos, jugar al fútbol, montar en bici... pero de cosas cursis... de cosas cursis no hemos encontrado nada que le guste.

Sus padres habían decidido dar prioridad al disfrute de los niños, eligiendo un parque infantil para celebrar el evento, así que cuando nos encargaron decorar su 1ª comunión tuvimos muy clara una cosa, debía ser una celebración acorde con él y sus cosas de niño de 9 años.

Partimos de la base de que una 1ª comunión es un acto importante y formal que tiene unas pautas ya marcadas, pero una celebración de un niño debe ser divertida y un poco menos encorsetada, así que llegamos a la conclusión de que colores vibrantes como naranja y celeste sería una buena opción y aunque escogeríamos la temática marinera porque Pablo iba vestido así, le daríamos un toque moderno para que él estuviera a gusto con su celebración, y podemos dar fe de que así fue.

Pablo is a very restless and funny kid, he's at that age where you think that girls are dumb and the kisses are disgusting, yuck! 

He likes what all kids like at his age: running, video games, playing football, cycling... but corny things... corny things are nowhere to be found on his favorite things. 

His parents decided to give priority to the enjoyment of children and they choose a playground to celebrate the event, so when we were commissioned to decorate their 1st communion we were hundred percent sure about one thing, it should be a celebration matching him and his "9 years old kid things".

We assume that a 1st communion is an important and formal event, but a celebration for a child should be fun and a little less serious, so we came to the conclusion that vibrant colors like orange and light blue would be the right option, even if we had to choose a nautical theme because Pablo was dressed like a sailor (which is typical for the spanish communions). We gave a modern twist to the design so he could be comfortable with his 1st communion, and we can assure you that he was.
